PHOTO CONTEST 2013 : And the winner is Bruno Dreyer!
Bruno Dreyer won Friday, March 15th the 3rd edition of our photo contest organized on the theme ” Wildlife of St. Barth .” His beautiful picture of a tropicbird photographed February 1st , 2013 at Grand Fond has made unanimity among the seven jury members. They had to deliberate according to four criteria (understanding of the theme, quality of the composition, technical quality and originality), each worth five points. Dreyer obtained 133 points out of a possible 140. Hehad already won 2nd prize in the 2012 photo competition based on the heritage of Saint Barth. Bruno considers himself very lucky taking this photo of a tropicbird posing for his camera : ” I was heading to Grand Fond’s natural pools when I saw this tropicbird. It seemed to look for a place to make a nest . I spent an hour there , taking pictures, ” he said , delighted to be awarded the first prize, a round/trip Saint Barth / Puerto Rico on Tradewind Aviation. Good blood does not lie, his son Benjamin, 13, who also participated in the contest, scored 120 points for a macro shot of a bee pollinating a fleur. Second prize this year went to Rick Guber for his image, “Little Bird Fishing Near The Dead Tree At The Salt Marsh In Saline,” taken in May 2012. Third prize was awarded to Clara Garret for her close-up of a dragonfly.
The 37 photos in the competition were on display in the lobby of town hall, and can be seen below, among all the pictures who attended the contest.
